The end of Facebook

0 opinions
Some of us are dreading it, others don't give fuck. But if we have to believe the group Anonymous then Facebook will be dead by the 5th November.

Facebook doesn't take the privacy of it's users very seriously. Ofcourse we all get the 'maybe you should change your privacy settings' notification. And I too have changed my settings only my friends seeing my information, wall, pictures etc. But it doesn't stop Facebook from doing what they want with all that information. Think about it : You've put your whole life on Facebook, you relationship status, your holiday pictures, contact information perhaps, things you like. All this information can be given to third party services, companies. And that way the Research & Development is done. They immediately know what you like, what you hate.

Anonymous wants to fight this. They want REAL privacy. So these hacktivists plan to take down facebook.
I know that I'm dreading it, basically because I daily go on facebook and I like it. And we'll probably all switch to Google + anyway, so yeah, not such a big deal right ?
But what happens when Facebook finally goes down ? We can't access it, so ALL our information remains ON facebook.

Here's the message to the World from Anonymous.

Attention citizens of the world,
We wish to get your attention, hoping you heed the warnings as follows:

Your medium of communication you all so dearly adore will be destroyed. If you are a willing hacktivist or a guy who just wants to protect the freedom of information then join the cause and kill facebook for the sake of your own privacy.

Facebook has been selling information to government agencies and giving clandestine access to information security firms so that they can spy on people from all around the world. Some of these so-called whitehat infosec firms are working for authoritarian governments, such as those of Egypt and Syria.

Everything you do on Facebook stays on Facebook regardless of your "privacy" settings, and deleting your account is impossible, even if you "delete" your account, all your personal info stays on Facebook and can be recovered at any time. Changing the privacy settings to make your Facebook account more "private" is also a delusion. Facebook knows more about you than your family.

You cannot hide from the reality in which you, the people of the internet, live in. Facebook is the opposite of the Antisec cause. You are not safe from them nor from any government. One day you will look back on this and realise what we have done here is right, you will thank the rulers of the internet, we are not harming you but saving you.

The riots are underway. It is not a battle over the future of privacy and publicity. It is a battle for choice and informed consent. It's unfolding because people are being raped, tickled, molested, and confused into doing things where they don't understand the consequences. Facebook keeps saying that it gives users choices, but that is completely false. It gives users the illusion of and hides the details away from them "for their own good" while they then make millions off of you. When a service is "free," it really means they're making money off of you and your information.

Think for a while and prepare for a day that will go down in history. November 5 2011, #opfacebook . Engaged.

This is our world now. We exist without nationality, without religious bias. We have the right to not be surveilled, not be stalked, and not be used for profit. We have the right to not live as slaves.

We are anonymous
We are legion
We do not forgive
We do not forget
Expect us

Laptop down --'

Hello there ^^

Well I haven't been able to post for a while. Because my laptop refuses to work. I've got a feeling it crashed. So when my dad gets back from the U.S. He'll have a look at it & then I can hopefully start posting again properly !

Anyway, had my first real working day today in the bakery (:
It was quite fun. It took me a while to get used to the till but I got the hang of that pretty quickly, but .. Remembering all the names of the desserts, there's like 25 different things. I have to know the names of these things, half the time the customers use like a dialect name for it, so I have no idea what it is. And ofcourse there's an even different name in the till.
But I'll get used to it (: . I'll be working every wednesday from 12.30 - 17.30, and I think I'll earn about €6,00 per hour. So that's a nice total of €120,00 each month (: not bad for a first job !

Good bye for today (:

UFO Sighting in London

0 opinions

the way this looks, it could just be the moon.

Yes, another sighting. And this time it's actually quite close to home for me. Okay yes it's a 6 hour drive to the UK, but in theory it's just over the North Sea.
Today a new video emerged on the BBC website, of 5 flying disks above the BBC building.
Several people that were passing by noticed the disks and ofcourse immediately got out their iPhone/Camera whatever, they filmed it and made sure they got on camera.
Many people are sceptical about the pictures, ofcoure photoshop can do wonders these days, so adding a few disk looking objects into the sky is peanuts. And I must admit, I was a bit sceptical when I saw the title. But the video does show that there are some weird things going on in the sky these days.
The E.T. aren't as subtle as they used to be ...

Anyway, so you can see it for yourself right ? Flying objects in the sky. Impossible to be an aircraft, since they don't make those sudden changes of direction. And I don't exactly know what else it could be.

We'll probably hear from this again.

Panda or Puppy ? Tiger or Retriever ?

1 opinions
The latest trend in China is to dye pets to make them look like other animals.
Like you can see on the picture, a golden retriever has been dyed to look like a tiger and chow chow pups have been dyed to look like pandas.

Dyeing pets has been around for a while now, at the major Pets Show Taipei there were plenty of dogs that had been dyed in to all kinds of different colours. But Dyeing pets to make them look like different animals is a whole new concept.

This is also shows that Asian countries have changed a lot, involving dogs and other animals.
10 years ago dogs were still served as a meal in restaurants and they were raised on farms for that purpose. Traditional Chinese medicine so called 'fragrant meat' that could fortify someone's life was also based on dog meat.
But nowadays, eating dogs is nearly an embarrassement. It reminds people of when they were poor.
If you want to show great wealth then get a dog, dye it to look like a tiger, and compete in dog shows.

It's a cool and nice concept, as long as it stays 'animal friendly'. So I hope for the dogs sake that it doesn't have any weird side effects !

Gay Marriage

0 opinions
Well well, gay marriage has been legalised in NYC.
I was actually really surprised to hear that, so now 5 states in the U.S. allow same sex marriage aka gay marriage. Ofcourse there's still 3 dozen states that define marriage as a connection between a man and a women. But we'll just have to take it one step at a time.

Here in Belgium, being gay isn't that much of a deal. Yes ofcourse we've got the haters, but there's also the lovers. Back in May it was Rainbow week. In Lanaken ( that's a city in Belgium, I've got some good friends there) they we're handing out the festival bands/bracelets. They've got the rainbow colors and on them they've written 'TOLERO' which is derived from tolerant, meaning you don't mind wether someone is straight, gay, lesbian or bisexual. I myself am wearing one as well. I think it's important that people can show the world who they really are and that they don't have to worry about what other people think. The rainbow week was a big succes and over
3 000 bracelets we're handed out in schools.

In America something like this would be out of the question. It's still a very religious country and being a christian is still a big thing there.
Religion has faded a bit here. Yes we still have people going to church, yes we've still got religious education in our schools. But it doesn't have a big impact on the youngsters here anymore. I still go to a Catholic school. And we still have our annual church service that we have to attend to. But apart from that I doubt that hardly anyone who goes to my school attends any church service, unless it's for a wedding, christening or funeral.

I also have the privilige of having gay friends. Okay now I'm just making them sound special. But really they aren't any different from anyone else. They're humans and like other humans, they're a lot of fun !
In the big cities here in Belgium there are some gay clubs and even my straight friends go there. It's a totally different atmosphere there, apparently more fun. I haven't been to any of them, mainly because I'm to young. But if I could, I would. You know what I mean ?

There are a lot of different opinions about this subject, and I know not everyone shares mine.
But I'm entitled to it, just like you're entitled to your opinion.

it's been Willsed..

Hello there ^^.

Well, it's the day after the party and we're left with the mess.
The last guests left at 3 AM. I helped my parents but the leftover food away and then went off to bed.
Then 3 hours later I was up again, thanks to those sweet birds tweeting and chirping away...
My dad got up round about 9 AM, then we started to move everything back into place.
We moved all the dining room table, back in to the dining room. But our coffee table back in the veranda and moved the couches back into there as well.
So now the house is all in order again !

Wills and I just enjoyed a nap together. I think I was lying awake for about 10 minutes before I realised that he was chewing on my sweater.. So that's another piece of clothing that's been 'Willsed' (If someone has been attacked/ruined/chewed on or anything of that sort by Wills, it's been Willsed ) But he really is a darling when he isn't biting or ruining things.
Even though  he's only been going to dogschool for a couple of weeks, he already knows a few commands like 'sit' obviously a very useful one !! He nows 'paw' and 'treaties'. He's so adorable when he does these things ^^

Hope everyone enjoys their day ^^

 Byee for now x
